At last we wives can have vacations, originally published by Caterpillar Tractor Co., Peoria, Illinois, 1930, 6 x 9 paperback, 23 pages.

This rare ORIGINAL brochure for Caterpillar tractors and equipment is in exceptionally good condition for its age. The back and front covers are barely edgeworn, with very little scuffing, with a slight amount of soiling and foxing. The inside pages are clean and in excellent shape, with no marks or smudges.

This is one of the most unusual and rare pieces of Caterpillar literature I have ever come across in nearly a quarter century of selling at antique tractor and engine shows, including the Historical Construction Equipment Association event near Bowling Green, Ohio, and a number of shows featuring the Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club. It is a reprint of testimonials from farm wives describing how Cats have saved their husbands so much time, they can actually go on vacation for more than one or two days! "There isn't always a meal to cook for hired help, as before," one wife enthused.

Just to be clear, let me reiterate that this is an advertising brochure for Caterpillar tractors. It is NOT an operator’s manual, or a service manual, or a parts list. This is just an advertisement, chock full of great pics and illustrations that will warm the heart of any collector of Caterpillar, or construction machinery. It is dated on the back cover, bottom corner: 50M 7-30 which I'm pretty sure means July 1930. Some Cat collector, please correct me if I'm wrong.

The form number on the back left bottom corner is S.L. 2012.
