WHAT'S THE STORY?
We sell hundreds of this item every month through a variety of marketplaces. Despite our efforts to communicate that this is a Travel Edition of Scrabble, this item has a return rate that is way above average, with the most common return comment being "I didn't realize it was small." Despite the fact that a travel version of Scrabble showed up at the customer's house, they open it anyway, perhaps thinking it will inflate to a full-sized Scrabble at some point? :) Or they just don't care that they're taking what could still be a brand new, sealed item that we could just sell to the next customer if they treat it well and return it in perfect shape, and they turn it into a "used" item by opening it all up and having a look. But such is the business of retail.
So, what to do with these perfectly good items? Sell them on the cheap, of course. So, here we are...
PRODUCT CONDITION:
This item was previously sold as new and returned to us. The item will have been opened and no retail wrappings will be present. We will have verified that all of the accessories are present, including an inventory of the letter tiles to make sure they are all there. But they may have been unwrapped / previously handled. We do, of course, screen out anything that we would not be comfortable with selling. Products that show signs of use, contaminants, etc, are screened out and not sold. If we have to give the thing a scrub, it's not going to get resold. Thankfully this is a rare item. For our safety and yours, those get disposed of, not sold.
The physical condition of the item will be good to like new. There may be minor surface swirling / scratches / chipping to the finish of the wood game case. This sometimes occurs in return shipping if a customer is not so careful with the item they unwrapped and remove from protective packaging. Items with serious damage or major cosmetic issues are never sold.
The images in the gallery are stock images. I know you want to ask us for photos of the specific item. We can't do it. We don't have the time. It's too costly. We're offering this item for less than our cost and for a massive discount compared to regular retail. We just want them in the hands of someone who wants one, not in a landfill, which is what so many other merchants do with their returns.
