Franz Waxman ‎– Hemingway's Adventures Of A Young Man (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) LP Vinyl Record (1962)

"The Entr'acte reissue is well mastered, with a very clean, rich sound and good volume."

Condition
Vinyl: VG-EX. Superbly clean on visual inspection. No obvious signs of any marks, scuffs or hairlines on either side except for one very light scuff through track 1, side B. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is great throughout. Run-in on side 1 is clean; slight static to side 2 run-in. Plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking. A fantastic listening experience.
Outer sleeve (Cover): F-G. Mottling, foxing and soiling on front cover. Bowing to thick card sleeve. Slightly yellowed. Minor corner nicks and edge wear as well as disc showthrough outline. Staining to bottom area and damage in top right where sticker residue has left a tear over catalogue number. Spine slightly creased but intact and edges suffer minimal wear. Few mild creases overall. Rear cover has scuffing/disc showthrough at the top centre and mottling/foxing in places. Marks and stains to bottom and top areas.

Review
Franz Waxman wrote one of his most achingly lyrical scores for Hemingway's Adventures of a Young Man, a richly autumnal piece startling with a lush string-laden, wind-ornamented "Prologue" that leads into the playful "Leaving Town".

The ominous, minor-key blues number "D.T. Blues" (featuring John Williams on the piano) breaks up this early mood. The reeds take center stage from the strings on the more reflective "Goodbye Father," the longest (and best) single track from the soundtrack, and bells and ominous horns herald "The Hospital," while "Rosanna" is a sweeping love theme that ought to have been able to sell this entire LP.
