This striking two-piece Royal Ironstone China covered vegetable dish from Alfred Meakin is a true antique, hailing from the Victorian era in England. The copper luster Tea Leaf pattern featuring hand painted brown/copper designs on white stoneware, is a classic example of the Ironstone production style.

The rectangular dish measures approximately 10x6 inches and comes with a lid, both adorned with the same beautiful pattern. My collector’s book refers to the shape as “Number 1”.

The dish is in excellent condition for its age without chips or cracks although it does have the normal blemishes and discolorations of age common in ironstone. The lid does quite set level and I traced this to the dish’s top edge being slightly lower in one corner. The hand painted design is a little messy and amateurish in places. As pictured.

Perfect for collectors or anyone who appreciates fine Victorian style, this Alfred Meakin Tea Leaf dish is a must-have addition to any decorative cookware or dinnerware collection.
