Garr played Inga in the 1974 film, Young
Frankenstein. In 1989, the year she signed this document, Garr was seen on
the big screen in Out Cold and Let It Ride. Actress Teri Garr
(born in 1947) found early visibility with a mixture of dramatic and comic roles
before maturing into her persona as a
smart comedienne typecast as an
eccentric ditz. Her first major film role was
The Conversation, then
Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein (both in 1974). From there she
played mothers and wives in such high-profile films as
Close Encounters of
the Third Kind (1977),
Oh, God! (1977) and
The Black Stallion
(1979). It wasn't until
Tootsie in 1981 that Garr became recognized for
her knack for
playing charmingly sweet airheads. Her television work
includes a
recurring role as Lisa Kudrow's mother on Friends.
Garr, who has been battling multiple sclerosis since 1983, published an
autobiography detailing her career and struggle with the disease in 2005.
Lightly creased with folds, not at signatures. Chipped at upper blank edge,
staple holes at mid-upper margin. Fine condition.
