One of a kind!

1920s beaded jacket/cover-up

This jacket had been stored in a cedar chest for decades

The chest was passed down to my mother from my grandmother

My grandmother was born in 1899 & I believe she may have made this piece along with the dress I have posted separately

The bead work & the colours are absolutely breathtaking!

The material seems to be a silk or rayon (which was a cheaper, more popular alternative to silk in the 1920s)

Please look CAREFULLY at ALL pictures!

This garment is roughly 100 years old.

It is in very good condition considering it's age & usage, BUT there are areas at the bottom, along the back & end of the sleeves where beads have become loose or are missing.

There are no holes, rips or tears in the material itself.

I am not touching this item...it is being sold AS IS.

My hope is that someone with the talent to refurbish this piece will give it new life.

Definitely wearable (after mending).

I would absolutely wear this myself if I knew how to repair it, which is why I brought it home. Sewing of any kind is not a talent I possess however 🤣

This garment is just stunning!

This is a very delicate piece & upon opening your package, you may find some beads have come off.

(I may actually place the item in a plastic bag for shipment)

This jacket has noticeable weight to it because of the beadwork.

I have a booth where I sell antique & vintage items locally, but I am afraid to display this as I would hate for some careless person to handle it & damage it.

Entertaining REASONABLE offers.

Please message me with any questions.
