This listing is for a 4x6" postcard, which has been hand-signed by legendary cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov. Komarov commanded Voskhod 1, the maiden voyage of the Voskhod program. He was then selected to command Soyuz 1, with Yuri Gagarin as his backup cosmonaut. Komarov and his colleagues were convinced that the spacecraft was not ready to fly, but they were pressured to meet deadlines and complete the mission on the original schedule. Komarov was unwilling to let Gagarin perish, and so he bravely refused to back out of the mission, even though it would likely lead to his own death. When the mission launched, Komarov was able to fly the ship despite many technical failures. But after managing to keep the craft operating for the entirety of the mission, he was tragically killed when the reentry parachute failed to deploy. History will remember him as one of the bravest and most talented pioneers in aviation.

Overall, this item is in great shape for its age. There are some minor creases and wear, but no major damage. And the signature is very slightly smudged, as shown in the photo. But the color and ink are still bold and crisp, and it's a fantastic image.

This item also comes with a COA from Steve Zarelli, the world's foremost expert on space signatures. The signed COA includes his seal and hologram sticker, with a photo matching the document to the signed item.

The winner will receive the exact item in the photos, so please refer to those for a closer look. Thank you for viewing this listing!
