This wonderfully striking Oriental ginger jar is decorated with a hand painted scene; of a warrior on horseback. This dramatic scene is painted with a rich colour palette of brick red,emerald green and yellow; set against a cream craquelure background. This jar is also decorated with bands of incised cross hatching. The size measures 12 cm height, and the circumstance measures 33 cm. The condition is excellent; there are no signs of damage, chips or noticeable marks. Unfortunately my knowledge of ginger jars is limited; so I do not feel qualified to comment on its exact origin and age.
