LIV. Façade de la Bourse Roïale.

This engraving presents an elevation of the facade of the Royal Stock Exchange  There is a scale below the elevation, and titles at bottom in Danish, French and German.

This is one of a collection of 25 architectural elevations and prospects I am currently offering for sale.  Drawn by Laurides de Thurah, they were published in Den Danske Vitruvius (The Danish Vitruvius), Copenhagen, Ernst Heinrich Berling [from 1746 to 1749]

Inspired by the Vitruvius Britannicus by Colin Campbell, de Thurah set out to create a similar work to celebrate the architecture of Denmark. These plates provide us with a valuable record of the designs of the important buildings of mid-18th century Denmark. Many of these have been lost or altered due to fire, demolition or remodeling.

This is an original engraved architectural elevation from De Thurah's book, uncolored, as originally published.  It measures approximately 12" high by 18-3.4" wide.

I have used the French titles, and I have attempted a translation within the description. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  The photographs are an essential part of the description. Please examine them carefully before placing a bid.

I do combine shipping for multiple items provided they are of sufficiently similar size and shape to allow packing together.  Please request an invoice before paying.
