AAA quality natural and untreated zircon gemstone originating from Sri Lanka. This weighs 5.00 CTS and has been cut and faceted into a heart shape. The measurements are approximately 9.3 x 9.3 x 6.1 mm.

This gem was sourced by a personal friend of mine in Bangkok who works in the gem market there. We asked him to find something special for our clients. This is of unparalleled quality with dazzling optical effects.

The coloring of the stone is a deep bronze tone with strong accents of gold. This displays dazzling flashes and sparks of red, orange and golden light. This optical display is most effectively shown in the supplied video.

The gem is fully transparent and has excellent clarity. There is only faint variations found upon magnification and this can be considered completely eye clean and near flawless clarity.

This is a naturally earth mined gemstone and has not been treated or heated in any way. This is not to be confused with cubic zirconia, which is a man made diamond imitation. The two names are often confused.

Zircon is actually the oldest mineral on earth and became quite popular for jewlery in the Victorian era. The name zircon derives from a Persian word "zargun" meaning gold colored, despite the fact it is available in an assortment of colors.
