DESCRIPTION

An uncommon edition translated into Welsh.

'The Pilgrim's Progress' is a Christian allegory which has become one of the most significant works in the English literature, being translated into over two-hundred languages, and never being out of print since its initial publication in 1678. It is second only to the Bible in popularity in Christian literature works.

Illustrated with a tipped-in frontispiece, and three plates.

Collated, bound without two plates. Collated from Jisc from a copy held at the National Library of Wales.

John Bunyan was a Puritan preacher, as is best known for his work 'The Pilgrim's Progress'. He was jailed after the restoration of the monarchy as he refused to give up preaching him nonconformist ideas. He spent twelve years in jail during this stint, during which he begun work on 'Progress'.
