Ice-T's fifth studio album and the first released through his Rhyme $yndicate record label, following his departure from Sire/Warner Brothers Records. Originally slated for a 1992 Sire/Warner Brothers release, the album was delayed until March 1993 following the controversy surrounding the 1992 song "Cop Killer" by the Ice-T fronted heavy metal band Body Count and Rodney King riots. Sire/Warner Brothers then refused to release the album with the current artwork by illustrator Dave Halili, depicting a white boy with headphones immersed in black culture, surrounded by images of violence, leading to an amicable split between Ice-T and Sire/Warner Brothers. The release was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in June, 1993, and was Ice-T's last studio album to receive certification from the RIAA.
