For sale is an authentic antique hand forged blacksmith made 1700s 18th century wrought iron fireplace peel with a unique ram head finale. It is a unique fireplace hearth kitchen item. Early settlers of this country used it to put food items (bread, pies, etc) into the open fire. It has Great early blacksmith stretching and hammering sign throughout the piece! Great original blackened patina! It measures 46” long and 7.5” wide at the spade end.


The item is in excellent antique condition. All connections are hand hammered and remains secure. There is very little rust on this piece. Age appropriate surface wears and imperfections are present. The handle is straight. Please study the pictures carefully before committing to buy.


Overall, this is a classical example that showcases the 1700s blacksmith craftsmanship. A great display item by itself for collectors of early wrought iron antiquity /early Americana /primitive Kitchen and hearth tool, or to be an appropriate piece to display your other antique hearth objects.
