EDWARDIAN LINEN DAY DRESS, 1915-1920
An Edwardian white medium weight linen dress, one piece in construction. This dress is for a tall woman. Attached belt at waist line with large crochet covered buttons at back. Short full sleeves with inserts of hand done floral crochet lace on cuffs. Accented with hand done crochet lace inserts starting front bodice shoulders, extending downward into waist, then skirt ending with inserts circling the hemline. The bodice front has an extensive hook/eye closure. Bodice and skirt have no lining.
CONDITION
In fair antique condition. There is no underarm stain discolorations. Tear at back as shown in photos, tear at shoulders in crochet lace at seam edge and a small tear in crochet at hem line. Few pin holes at back. Missing one crochet button. Small area of yellowing at front neck line. Sturdy and strong and wearable.
