Superb Victorian, turn of the century Italian fine light weight linen tablecloth with artistic combination of Italian Cantu and Ventian bobbin lace, reticella needle lace, hand knotted figural filet lace and skillfully stitched raised satin stitch embroidery and openwork.

The large hand knotted filet lace inserts with mythological god figures of Poseidon, Air, Earth, Fire, and Water figures in Italian lettering and numerous smaller medallions. The figural scalloped edge trim has various creatures big and small.

Condition
This table cloth is in very good sturdy, clean and useable condition with 2 tiny spot stains, no repairs, minor filet bride breakage as pictured in one large Terra filet, and few scattered tiny holes in filet lace edging and one small tiny hole in linen, hard to find. There are a few very small very minor broken brides scattered about and all are an easy fix.

This table cloth linen is well preserved and worthy of collecting. A lovely heirloom table cloth that can be passed down to the next generation of family members.
This table cloth is reminiscent of a very grand and regal period in linens.
