Hickory shaft Cleek golf club (1 iron). Dot punch face.

Made by R Forgan & Son of St Andrews, Scotland for 'Melbourne Sports Depot' in the late 1890's or early1900's.

The Melbourne Sports Depot first began retailing from a premises in Flinders Lane in the 1880's and imported all manner of sporting equipment including golf clubs from Scotland.

This club is 37" long and has been restored to as near original condition as possible.

The clubhead has been removed, cleaned of rust, treated to inhibit further oxidation and reattached with a new pin.

The shaft and leather grip are both original.

The only addition being the new waxed Linen whipping applied to the grip to replace the worn / frayed  / missing original whipping.

The club has not been restored for play and is currently suitable for display purposes only.
