Each spring, the beautiful buds burst open to reveal masses of simple, saucer-shaped pure white, single blooms. Flowering reliable each spring, ‘Blushing Pearl’ blooms along the whole branch for s dramatic display. As the blooms fade, the new red shoots appear, unfurling into beautifully incised blue-green leaves.
- Grow Exochorda in any moist, well drained fertile soil in sun or dappled shade.
- Exochorda tolerates most soils except for shallow, chalky conditions.
- After flowering, cut back the flowered shoots to strong buds lower down the stems.
- Large, mature Exochorda plants will also benefit from a fifth of the oldest stems being cut back to the base of the plant each year.
