RARE 1930 PERRIER Limoges Porcelain Ashtray Robert Haviland and Le Tanneu


Former ashtray from the famous French sparkling mineral water PERRIER (created in 1903).


Stamp reads “ROBERT HAVILAND & LE TANNEUR - LIMOGES”


Manufactured between 1926 and 1941.


Robert Haviland is the grandson of the famous Charles Field Haviland. He founded his porcelain factory in Limoges in 1924 and joined forces with Pierre le Tanneur (his brother-in-law) in 1926.


In 1941, he bought the Charles Field Haviland house and signed all of its production with this name. Thus, all the pieces signed Robert Haviland and the Tanneur were produced between 1926 and 1941.


The royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom (lion and unicorn) as well as the text “Honi soi qui mal y pense” which is the Anglo-Norman motto of the Order of the Garter, the most important order of British chivalry
