ANTIQUE GERMAN SCHOENAU & HOFFMEISTER 1909 - 19" HEIGHT

This antique doll was made in Germany by the firm of Schoenau & Hoffmeister (SPBH) and is the 1909 mould and made around that same time.  She is approximately 19" in height.

Her bisque socket head is in good condition but does have a chip on her left ear that appears to have occured in the factory making of the head.  Her markings are clear on the back of her head.  She has her original blue glass sleeping eyes with her eyelashes intact but they could be replacements but I am unsure.  She has multi stroked eyebrows and an open mouth with a row of teeth and nicely blushed cheeks.  Her long auburn wig is a replacement, as is her pate which have not been glued down so that the head can be stuffed to protect the eyes in transit but are easy to pop back on with water based glue such as aquadhere.

She is on her all original composition ball jointed body that is in good order and her stringing is good.

She comes wearing a lovely drop waisted cream cotton frock trimmed with lace with smocking on the dropped waist and sleeves.  Underneath she has a petticoat, pantaloons, stockings and buckle up patent like leather black shoes.

This doll is display ready and a lovely, cheaper antique doll to have amongst any collection.
