14" tall. c. 1918. Very rare carnival chalk ware prize and was likely produced in the late teens or early twenties in homage to the soldiers of World War One. Movable arms. Gold-painted buttons on jacket. Hat reads "US." Scuffs on face and hands. Scattered missing paint flakes. Surface dust. Movable arms need to be restrung. Otherwise structurally sound. This kewpie has lived in the same house for 100 years! Passed down from generation to generation An extremely rare and hard to find item. No restoration or cleaning have been done. He looks a bit odd as his painted facial features have worn off over the years.
