This is a vintage tree stump planter.  It is a ceramic or pottery piece that is hand-painted with a spongeware pattern on the leaves of the tree.  It has a sweet little rabbit or cocker spaniel dog sitting under the branches.  It is quite old and I am not certain whether it is a USA-made piece of pottery or if it is from Japan.  I am leaning towards Japan but I could be wrong.  It measures 3.5" tall x 3.25" wide x 4" long.  The opening is 2.75" long x 2.75" wide.  It weighs 8 oz.  It is in very good condition.  There are no chips or cracks.  There is significant crazing on the underside of the planter.  There are no paint chips but there are some hard water deposits along the rim of the planter and on the interior.  Please see the photos for specifics on the condition of this sweet little tree trunk planter.
