The medallion is in brass with gilt finish, approx. 40 mm wide x 45.5 mm tall (including the eyelet). Stamped serial number to the reverse matches the number stamped on the pouch. The suspension device has copper-plated pin in magnetic steel. The ribbon is in silk of very high quality. The ribbon bar has a brass backing with a pin (the backing is also in copper-plated steel, like the suspension for the medal.)

The set is exactly as it was originally issued by the authorities of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The order and ribbon bars are in excellent, near mint condition. The gilt finish on the medallion is bright, nearly pristine, with only mild patina of age. The pouch has a couple of stains, shows moderate storage wear, and is torn open on one side, but it is still sound in that the paper is quite supple.
