I BELIVE this item is for serving Small Hot Muffins to a dining table.

I also think it is from the 1930s and was brought to the USA by a WW11 war Bride.

It has 3 lines of marks on the bottom.

E P C   letters and the letters are each enclosed in a square box.

3  Hallmarks are  as follows :---   A Mans head facing right.     Crown       Stylized letter S.

Under the hallmarks is 269.

The Lid is hanged and flips up with a PAW Handle and it stands on 4 PAW Feet. See Photo

It is so shiny I cannot get a photo of the marks.
Well I did manage to get the marks and if you know what company this is I would love to hear from you.

The handle is wood and screws off. It is 4.5 ins long and sits well in the hand. Will be removed for shipping and screws in easily . Would have been removed to wash the dish..

The Dish is roughly 8 x 6 and just under 2 ins deep.

I have seen such an item used in English Hotels where the muffins sit inside a napkin in the holder with the lid up so the muffins may be removed. Any item that is better warm would work in this.
