A large antique photo (8x7 inch, 20.5x17.5 cm) of the Jewish Cemetery, situated in Estrada do Alto de Sao Joao in Lisboa. There is little information about this Jewish cemetery, which might have been a Jewish section of an otherwise non Jewish cemetery.

The photo shows several tombstones with Hebrew inscriptions, and in the background – the Tajo Riverbed. 

The photo was taken by famous Lisbon photographers titled Photographia Ingleza Lazarus from Rua Ivens 53. It seems the owners were the brothers Joseph and Maurice Lazarus, who were British Jews who settled in Portugal in the late 19^th century.

They settled in Lisbon in 1908 and their business was active until 1939.

Condition: The photo itself is in excellent condition. The cardboard frame has a small break to one corner and some other minor flaws.  It is 30x24.5 cm in size – around 12x10 inch.
