These are Cr(3+) YAG (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) facet rough, what we call "laser christmas garnet". Each can be purchased individually.
It is a 1.25ct, 6mm large round cut diamond shaped stone. A small one with 57 facets polished, very shining. It captures the light inside the gem and returns it perfectly to the viewer. It has a very high hardness (8.5), which also guarantees that it will not scratch when worn.
They used in space satellite laser detectors that exhibits two different colors, red and green, under ordinary light, without the need for ultraviolet radiation. When ultraviolet light is irradiated, it emits red light, but the red light is not evenly distributed in it, but changes with the angle of irradiation, even if its material is uniform and completely transparent under normal light.
These crystals why known as "Christmas gemstones" because they appear in both red and green colors.
This is an ideal material for faceting. It has excellent optical properties in addition to its amazing color.
