This gown is truly stunning!! Very Rare!!

Sophie Gimbel was the director and designer of Salon Moderne of Saks Fifth Avenue, an exclusive haute couture boutique. A leading designer for 40 years, gowns designed by Gimbel were known for their simplicity, elegance and use of expensive fabrics. She designed elegant haute couture dresses and gowns for an exclusive clientele of first ladies, broadway shows and hollywood starlets. A collection of her gowns and dresses are on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

I am 5'6" and wear a size 2, when wearing this with a 4" heel, the dress was still on the floor. My guess is this was made for a tall woman. Very nice weight and movement to the skirt.

There is a split in the fabric just next to the zipper and a few on the lower skirt. Still very wearable condition
