    The tool goes over the shaft. Screw the the removal tool onto the leaking seal (counterclockwise) to engage the seal with the tool LH threads, and turn the hex bolt to remove the seal. Then place the new seal on the shift shaft and push the positioning pin tool into place to complete the installation.
