Limited Edition Franklin Mint "The Raj Chess Set". 1987. The hand painted pewter pieces with authentic historical colours, cast marble playing surface and wooden mahogany board-table are all used but in good condition.

The set is a masterpiece in design and craftsmanship with quality that matches the fine detail and beauty. It has long been discontinued and was only available by direct subscription from The Franklin Mint in 1987.

Pawns are approx. 3 inches tall and the other pieces range from 2.5 to 3.75 inches tall.

The set depicts the British vs. Indian Army in the Sepoy Indian Revolution of 1857.

British pieces are marked "The Queen's Forces Against The Mutineers" and the Indian pieces are marked "The Forces Of The Rebellion".
