"From Desert to Show Ring: A Guide to the [Model Horse} Arabian Costume"

~ by Jennifer Baker Wilson ~

DESCRIPTIONArtist-written, home-published, comb-bound book by one of the hobby's most talented and well-respected model horse Arabian Costume Artists of our time, Jennifer Baker Wilson! Over 100 pages (containing many black/white and some color photographs), packed full of hints, tips and secrets used by the author to produce many NAN Champion costumes. This book will assist you in making both an authentic style costume, and a modern American showring style costume. The book contains three main parts - a 20 page section on the history of the Arabian Native Costume, a large 50+ page section on how to construct model horse scale Arabian costumes, and a 20+ page reference section geared towards showing the model scale Arabian horse in costume. There are sections on the rules of the Arabian costume class to help you with your set-ups at both live and photo shows, so that you can get the most out of each class (as well as example reference and documentation cards).

CONDITION: New/mint; reprinted with permission from (and royalties to) the author, Jennifer Baker Wilson. Clear front protective cover, black comb binding, and black plastic backing. Note that this is a "working" book for you - printed on only one side of each page so that you can use the back side of each page to jot down your own notes, sketches, or even tape your own reference photos to.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE IF YOU ARE A 'REAL' ARABIAN HORSE ENTHUSIAST: Although this book has a 20 page history on the real (lifesize) Arabian Horse Costume and its development over the years, the book is mainly geared towards the MODEL SCALE (toy horse) hobby. The book does not contain instructions or patterns for real, lifesize Arabian horse costumes.
