Galeries Lafayette set of 3 agendas (1936, 1939, 1946) France World War 2

This auction is for a collection of 3 Galeries Lafayette agendas (1936, 1939, 1946) from France.

Each agenda has a page for each day of the year with the date, the saint celebrated on that day, a short recipe and a ledger for recording income & expenses.

The previous owners of these agendas chose to keep a detailed record of their grocery purchases in pencil. As some pages are marked "Regle" (paid), it's possible that the books belonged to the cooks working in private households who would be reimbursed by their employer.

Each book has a hard cover. Together, they provide a snapshot of life in a French kitchen around World War Two.

Complete and in good condition. The cover and first page of the 1946 agenda are damaged. See photos for details.
