Up for bid is a fine English sterling salver by James Dixon
& Sons, Sheffield, 1902-03. The
piece is 13 inches in diameter and stands 1 1/8 inches tall. It weighs 929 grams. It has a floral scroll and shell rim with three
matching curved feet. The top has
elaborate floral scroll engraving. It has
not been monogrammed. It is marked [JD&S],
with Sheffield hallmarks for 1902-03.
Condition on the piece is fairly good. The top has numerous scratches from use, and
it has been polished many times, with lots of rubbing to the marks. Still a fine and useful silver salver!
