Description

Occasionally, after pressing the start button, there are instances where the turntable does not stabilize after 33 rotations. (This can be determined when the rotation check LED blinks even after the tonearm has reached the record position.) When this happens, pressing the 45 RPM button and then the 33 RPM button stabilizes the rotation at 33 RPM. Once stabilized, there are no irregularities in rotation during playback.

Apart from this, all other functions operate smoothly. The tonearm's vertical movement is also smooth. The operation of each switch is smooth. The stylus pressure adjustment and anti-skating ring adjustment are electronic, and the tonearm operation is fully automatic, making it user-friendly and convenient. Additionally, it is equipped with a locate mechanism, allowing easy movement to the desired song position without touching the tonearm by operating the buttons.

I owned three DENON players, but this model was my favorite. I used all players in a floor-standing position as it is said to produce the best sound. Indeed, there was a noticeable difference in the sound of musical instruments.

I will include an additional genuine headshell and an audio-technica AT95E cartridge. By simply swapping the two headshells, you can immediately compare the DL-80 and AT95E, and you can also change them according to your preference for records. Moreover, feel free to replace the cartridge with your preferred one. Although the DL-80 is an MC cartridge, it has high output, allowing direct use with MM cartridge terminals. I personally used an audio-technica MM equalizer. The MC80 has been used for a few years after needle replacement, and the AT95E has not been used much since purchase. While I cannot precisely recall the cartridge's usage time, I believe both are still usable based on their extended mid-to-high range.

Note: I heard that the sound can change depending on the impedance of the phono connection pin cable, so I had them changed to gold-plated pin terminals to allow for various cable replacements. (See photo 5.) There are no other modifications.

There is a slight peeling at the bottom corners of the left side of the main unit. (See photo 9.)

It might be difficult to see in the photos, but there are some scuff marks on the dust cover. (See photo 10.)

What I will send includes the DP-47F player set, DL-80MC cartridge, audio-technica AT95E cartridge, two genuine headshells, red and white pin cables, and an earth wire. The manual will be a copy but will be included. The 45 RPM adapter, the record in the photo, and the Technics stabilizer are not included.
