I purchased this guitar from the owner of a music store in Honolulu. He purchased this guitar brand new from the factory for himself. This is an extremely rare guitar because they only made 6 of them and this is #6! Handcrafted by Fender’s Custom Shop, this guitar is of very high quality and is in excellent condition. The previous owner had kept it in his collection and I added it right to my collection also without playing it. This Custom Shop Series was name after Star, the Fender representative for the stores west of the Rocky Mountains. This guitar is in excellent condition and we cannot see any visible dents, nicks, scratches of any kind. This Blue Star quilted maple body used to be blue, but the clear coat has now faded to a yellow causing the guitar to now appear green which is common in this 6 series.The back is Ash. The gold hardware on the bridge, jack plate, knobs, and back plate are beginning to tarnish. I have heard that this series of Custom Shop Strats used the last of the gold hardware from the Marilyn Monroe series Strats.

This includes a Fender Tweed case. All hardware and feet are intact and working.

And the vast majority of each instrument is created in-house at the Custom Shop. Even the pickups are painstakingly handwound, using much of the same materials and equipment utilized in Fender's early days.
