There are different types of glow plugs

- Steel glow plugs
- Ceramic glow plugs

 These types differ in structure and operating voltage.

 It is not possible to replace the installed glow plugs with another type of glow plug because of the different operating voltage.

 The engine control unit software is adapted to the installed standard glow plug. Therefore, it is not allowed to use both - steel and ceramic glow plugs - at the same time.

 When installing the new glow plug, it is important to note the torque indicated by the vehicle manufacturer.

 A wrong torque can result in a loss of compression.

 An unprofessional installation of the glow plug can not only damage the glow plug but can also have a detrimental effect on the engine.
