• Top of tin reads:  "THE OWL'S THEATRICAL COLD CREAM ... The Owl Drug Co." and has a wonderful picture of a large Great Horned Owl perched on top of a druggist's mortar and pestle.

• Condition:   This tin is in GOOD SOLID condition.  There are some dents, some fading/discoloring, and some wear.  The lid screws open and closed and comes off.  It has the usual minor issues that you'd expect to find on a tin that has survived a century of time and the pictures show most of this.  It has no rusting or corrosion, and is VERY SOLID.  PLEASE see pictures for overall idea of condition.  

• Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE lithographic tin, ca. early 1900's.

This container originally came packed with one pound of cold cream, Theatrical cold cream, to be exact.   This cold-cream container and the Owl Drug Co. Seidlitz Powder tins are probably the two best and more sought after tins that were put out by the old Owl Drug Co.   The lid of this one has a great picture of the Owl Drug Co.'s Trade Mark picture of a Great Horned Owl perched on a druggist's mortar, stirring a pestle.   Then on the side it also pictures large owls standing sentry duty on each side of the advertising!   Lots of BRIGHT COLOR in this tin, the brown and gold print really stands out against the orange and cream colored back ground.   The important thing about these old tins is condition.   Condition, condition, condition, to be exact.  In summary, about all we can say is that NOT a lot of these old Owl Drug Co. tins have survived the elements of time, as they just did not stand up to the test of time unless they were tucked away out of the weather.  These were designed to be used and then discarded s so very few have survived into today.   It is a finite item, only so many of these are even available today.  So, comparatively speaking, this example is in VERY GOOD CONDITION, check it out!
