Description

I found this hand-tooled leather child’s wallet in an old steamer trunk back in the 1970’s. All the material from the trunk dated from the 19th century and belonged to a former Santa Fe railroad man. The wallet contained unique paper rubbings of Morgan silver dollars and other U.S. coins. My guess the father did this for a young child as part of a learning platform of fiscal responsibility in their lives.

Whatever the story it was saved and wrapped in silk handkerchiefs to preserve that precious memory.”
