Up for sale is an 1864 series Confederate $5.00 Note. T-69 according to Criswell. Condition is very nice, probably never circulated. Paper is crisp with pink colour. Very sharp details. No repairs or other issues. The capital building of the Confederacy is featured in the cental vignette with Christopher Memminger (Confederate Secretary of State) on lower left. These fine notes come from the family estate of Fontaine Watts Mahood who was a member of Otey's (Richmond) VA. Battery, 13th Artillery Battalion. His son of the same name became the chief historian of the United Sons of Confederate Veterans.
