This Victorian horsehair/mohair buggy or carriage blanket is a stunning piece of antique textile. The blanket is made of soft and luxurious mohair (horsehair?), providing warmth and comfort during chilly rides.

I question the horsehair because it is from a wealthy family estate sale and was described as Mohair

The Victorian style of the blanket is evident in its ornate floral pattern, which was a popular motif. The blanket is made in two layers and has a good heavy weight to it.

This antique piece is in excellent condition, except for two small wear areas that don't go through both sides and need a little sew. I've chosen not to repair these myself and let the buyer decide.

This carriage blanket would make a lovely display item or a functional addition to a vintage carriage or buggy.
