Card Size: The modern standard, 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" ~ Number of cards in set: 60 baseball player cards + one uniquely numbered certificate card ~ Total number of sets produced: 12,000 ~ This is a factory-sealed set.

In 1987, World Wide Sports, in cooperation with The Sporting News, issued this 60 card series made from original photographic negatives created by master photographer CHARLES M. CONLON. These cards, unlike earlier Conlon Collection products (1981, 1983 and 1984), are standard card size (2-1/2" by 3-1/2"). All cards are in sepia tones.

This series (as well as series one, issued in 1986) had announced production of 12,000 sets with each including a 61st card (individually numbered) with facsimile signatures of four principals: The presidents of World Wide Sports, Inc., St. Louis, MO and Sports Collectibles; Paul Mac Farlane, author of the card set and historian, The Sporting News; and two men representing Mulligan Printing Company, St. Louis.

If you lack this excellent set, consider grabbing it when available at reasonable cost. This Conlon Collection series - like all Conlons - feature the best writing to be found on the back of any baseball card. You can actually learn something by collecting Conlon sets.
