Revell | H-16 Piasecki Transporter | Kit H223-98 | Vintage 1955 | Original Issue

The YH-16 Piasecki Transporter was a tandem-rotor helicopter developed by the Piasecki Aircraft Corporation in the 1950s. It featured a unique configuration with dual rotors mounted at the ends of wings extending from the fuselage. This design aimed to enhance lift and stability while allowing for a spacious cargo or troop compartment in the center. The YH-16 was initially designed for military transport purposes, and it played a role in exploring the viability of tandem-rotor helicopters for heavy lifting and troop transport. While the YH-16 did not see widespread adoption, its innovative design contributed to the development of subsequent tandem-rotor helicopters.

Box cover shows signs of significant wear but internal components are in good shape and appears complete.  This is the original 1955 kit and not a reissue.
