Box of 100 self drilling plasterboard fixings with screws.

No pilot hole needed- simply screw the grey alloy fixing straight into the plasterboard using a no.2 Phillips or Pozi (cross head) screwdriver in the centre hole.  Then with the same screwdriver use the silver coloured screw to fix whatever you are fixing to the wall into the centre hole of the fixing.  MAKE SURE THE SELF DRILLING PART IS SCREWED RIGHT HOME AND IS FLAT AGAINST THE PLASTERBOARD BEFORE INSERTING THE SCREW! The self tapping screw is a tight fit in the fixing, deliberately so as if it went in easily, whatever you are fixing would fall off just as easily!  When inserting the screw, press hard at right angles to the plasterboard surface so that the self drilling part can't spin in the plasterboard.

Fixings 32mm long, screws No.8 x 1.3/8" (4.3 x 36mm).  Length marked on the box is 35mm- this is the combined length of the fixing and screw with the screw threaded all the way in.

SAFETY NOTICE- this type of fixing is for fairly light loads, and not suitable if there is mechanical vibration such as a fan or air conditioner, or where someone might lean on the item such as a radiator. To fix such items to plasterboard you should use a brolly type anchor (see our E-bay shop for a wide selection of sizes)
