First and early editions of the complete set of Dictionnaire Raisonne du Mobilier Francais, complete in six volumes in uniform quarter morocco bindings and marbled boards.

By the renowned French architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, best remembered for his restoration of prominent medieval landmarks in France, including the Notre-Dame, the Basilica of Saint Denis, the Roquetaillade castle, and more.
All volumes are densely illustrated throughout with many plates and bright chromolithographs. All volumes are also part of the first edition, with the exception of Volume I, which is the second edition.
Volume I (1868) has twenty eight plates including seven chromolithographs.
Volume II (1871) has twenty eight plates including eighteen chromolithographs.
Volume III (1872) has thirteen plates including twelve chromolithographs.
Volume IV (1873) has three chromolithographs.
Volume V (1874) has eight plates including one chromolithograph.
Volume VI (1875) has ten plates including two chromolithographs.
Collated, complete.
CONDITION
In quarter morocco bindings and marbled boards. Externally, sound. There is some rubbing to the heads and tails of the spines and bumping to the extremities. There is some wear to the extremities. The joints are slightly cracked and the hinges are strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot.
