All cards in the 1978 Grand Slam card set featured images of retired players alive at the time of issuance - making for an autograph collector's dream. Card size is approximately 2-1/4 by 3-1/4 inches, with black & white photo on the front and card number, player name, brief biographical sketch and GRAND SLAM 1978 on the back. Although most of the players have passed on in the 30+ years since the cards were issued, they are great collectibles, reasonably scarce and ought to be considered by any serious collector.
