Tafsir al-Tha’alibi: The Gems in the Interpretation of the Quran:

أبو زيد عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن مخلوف الثعالبي المالكي

This is a very interesting copy of the major Sunni Maliki reference book “al-Jawaher al-Hisan fi Tafsir al-Qur’an” by Imam Abu Zaid al-Tha’alibi. It is a hand written manuscript, undated but looks like 300 years old or more (I am not sure). The text is about explanation of the Holy Quran based on some Sunni Muslims jurisprudences. It is considered one of the most important references in the Islamic library. The text is written with fantastic Arabic calligraphy of North African and Andalusia style. Unfortunately, the first chapter (12 leaves) is missing and replaced by new ones with a different calligraphy. The text also contains many Gold illuminated Sura Headings and ornamental Medallions. The text is affected by foxing and a little worming. The text also contains words written with gold or colors. The spine is tight. It is unbound and shows no damage in the leaves. The manuscript is incomplete, but the missing 12 leaves were replaced with a different recent calligrapher. It is formed of 219 leaves and 438 pages. It measures 27.0 x 20.0 x 5.0 cm. You get exactly what you see in the scans.

·        I combine shipping. You pay shipping cost for only one item, the heaviest one, and the others are posted for free in the same envelop. You may pay a little extra fee if the weight is higher than the range.
