A 3 inch tall square clear-glass antique TOOTH POWDER bottle. This is a FANCY LOOKING bottle, paneled with ORNATE EMBOSSING in the front panel. It is an old DENTAL bottle for the MOUTH TEETH GUMS BREATH THROAT TOOTH, an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating over ONE CENTURY OLD.

Bottle embossed: "EXTRA TOOTH POWDER", all within a banner with a floral scene. This is the only embossing on it BUT an 1882 "The Dental Office & Laboratory" advertising book shows a picture of this exact bottle with the caption, "Johnson & Lund Extra Tooth Powder - bottles come in three sizes, with or without contents".
Condition: Bottle has content haze and traces of age wear, including a clean chip of glass missing from the left side of lip. PLEASE see pictures to get the best idea of overall appearance/condition.
Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled-top, ca. late 1800's.

A nice FULLY EMBOSSED little EXTRA TOOTH POWDER bottle. Again, an 1882 advertising catalog called "The Dental Office & Laboratory" pictures this EXACT embossed BOTTLE and reads "JOHNSON & LUND EXTRA TOOTH POWDER", and offers it for sale in this embossed bottle, in 3 different sizes, and comes with or without contents. This is not a commonly seen bottle in fact, we've never seen another. And it is an early bottle too, an early hand-blown bottle that was made all the way back in the 1800's. Many of the collectors of antique dental bottles are dentists, building small collections of quality antique dental bottles to display in their waiting rooms and offices and this is a prime example of just this sort of thing as it says so simply, "EXTRA TOOTH POWDER". Old dental bottles like this contained nothing more than a liquid or powdered tooth paste, yet they claimed that they had secret medicinal properties that, if used regularly, could cure any type of past or present disease of the mouth, gums, throat, even things that they still can't cure today.
