SCARCE ORIGINAL VINTAGE QANTAS AIRLINES TRAVEL BAG
Presenting a fabulous authentically vintage Qantas Airways cabin travel bag. This is an exceptionally scarce version having been produced specifically for the "Cavalcade Escorted Tour - July 1968". This bag would have been produced in very limited numbers.
This superb Australian piece is branded with the Qantas Airways logo rendered in white lettering to opposing sides of the rich burgundy PVC coated cotton bag. A sleek, space-age graphic of an airplane combined with the lettering "Australia's Round-The-World Airline" completes the logo while the name of the specific all inclusive tour designed to promote the Australian Airline features above.
Crisp white tubing edges the bag, perfectly framing the dynamic 1960s Qantas design.
A hard solid plastic handle features to the top attached with metal fittings. A large zippered pocket appears to the front face. Five squat metal stoppers protect the base.
The original tag remains in place to the interior reading "Made in Australia by Duffy Electronics Pty Ltd Sydney NSW for Qantas Empire Airways Ltd from PVC coated cotton".
SIZE: The front face of the bag measures approx 450mms in length x 260mms in height.
CONDITION: This superb example is presented in excellent vintage condition. The graphics remain lovely and vibrant with no major wear and there are no rips or tears to the bag itself. There are a couple of feint marks to the interior mentioned for complete accuracy. All zips work well and the handle swivels smoothly as it should. This bag appears to have had only very minimal use and presents wonderfully.
