OTC drug Olbas Oil is a natural remedy for a runny nose. It facilitates breathing and immediately unblocks a blocked nose in adults and children over 3 years of age.
It has an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect. The drug is based on a more than 100-year-old formula developed in Switzerland.
The composition of Olbas includes, among others, eucalyptus oil, clove oil, juniper oil, as well as menthol, which make the drug easier to breathe, even during sleep. The effectiveness of the drug has been confirmed by clinical studies.
Indications:
Olbas Oil, depending on the route of administration, is indicated in:
rhinitis, accompanying colds and supportively in sinus diseases (steam inhalation, free inhalation),
rheumatic and muscular pain (externally).
Composition:
The active substances are: Cajeput oil (Cajeputi oleum), clove oil (Caryophylli floris aetheroleum), eucalyptus oil (Eucalypti aetheroleum), juniper oil (Iuniperi aetheroleum), peppermint oil (Menthae arvensis aetheroleum), methyl salicylate (Methylis salicylas), menthol (Levomentholum).
100 g of the product contains: cayeput oil 18.5 g, clove oil 0.1 g, eucalyptus oil 35.45 g, juniper oil 2.7 g, peppermint oil 35.45 g, methyl salicylate 3.7 g, menthol 4.1 g.
Dosage:
This drug should always be used exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. The drug for use by vapor inhalation. Olbas Oil does not leave greasy stains, does not stain.
Inhalations:
Children over 7 years, adolescents and adults: sprinkle 2 - 3 drops on a handkerchief or the top of the hand and inhale the escaping vapor. The vaporizing effect can be enhanced by adding a few drops of the oil to a cup of warm (not hot) water.
Children from 3 to 7 years: sprinkle 2 -3 drops on a handkerchief, give to inhale from a short distance. For use at bedtime, sprinkle a piece of cloth with 2 - 3 drops of oil and place near the child, or sprinkle a comforter cover with 2-3 drops of oil.
Externally:
Adults: for rheumatic and muscular pains, rub a small amount of oil into the painful areas up to 3 times a day.
Action:
Olbas Oil contains various essential oils, which act to help liquefy secretions, reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa, facilitate breathing in inhalation administration.
When applied externally to the skin, Olbas has a mild analgesic, cooling effect, relieving muscular and rheumatic pains.
Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances of this drug, if you have been diagnosed with asthma, allergic diseases of the respiratory system, externally on atopic skin (with atopic dermatitis) or damaged skin. Do not use during pregnancy and lactation. Do not use in children under 3 years for inhalation. Do not use by vapor inhalation in children under 7 years of age Do not apply to the facial area of children. For external use on the skin only in adults.
