For sale is a Nice! Antique 19th C Victorian era Folk art Straw Art matchbox.  Pieces of straw from oats, rye, rice and other grains have been used to create the pattern.  This wood and straw folk art on a matchbox was probably created in the victorian age.  Matches in boxes came into use Post-1840's.   The reddish scroll patterns appear to be a veneer of wood, while the diagonal lines are made of straw. 


Box Measures About 5" long x 2.5" wide


 There are some surface imperfections commensurate with age. Please check the photos carefully for the condition of all sides.
