I have been raising California rabbits for kids to show in Texas county fairs.  We house the rabbits in wire cages in a building with dirt floors.   An adult rabbit eats about 100 lbs of 18% protein pellets per year and the poop and pee accumulate beneath the cages.  Every year or so I remove the top layer which contains dry marbles, hair and hay.  I gather the moist material underneath the top layers which looks like moist organic soil.  This is the material you will be getting.   You might see a few rabbits marbles but it has the texture of soil and it can be readily mixed in the soil.

Please note the shipping weight can not exceed 20 lbs for this USPS Ground Advantage package.  The package can only be shipped to Continental US.   Due to high shipping costs.  This is not a returnable item.

If you are ordering more than one box, the first box will go out next day, but  since I can only ship one box per day, you need to wait for the other boxes to arrive (gardeners ordering just one box will have priority).

A note about our Champion Herd.  We aim to raise quality rabbits.

We have raised these California rabbits for 17 years.   We started when our son entered 4H and he would raise rabbits and take them to our county fair in Texas.   I became a 4H leader and rabbits have become part of our lives.  We have raised these rabbits for 4H kids to take to Texas fairs as they enter rabbit meat pen competitions.   Our rabbits have actually won about 20 of these competitions.  The winners typically receive about $5000 when they win but everyone usually wins something as well as the character gained from the rabbit experience.   We always enjoy bringing bunnies at ages two to four weeks to church for the kids and parents to hold.

The California rabbit breed was developed about a 100 years ago as a source for meat and the white pelts and it has been very successful.  These rabbits do not like being in the sunlight probably due to their pink eyes (they may not be able to survive in the wild).  Some sensitive folk may see these rabbits in cages and are appalled.  The rabbits are happy, safe and dry in their homes that we call cages.  They enjoy being next to each other.  The momma rabbits care for their bunnies.  Adult rabbits have a 36X30 inch area.
