The Polyanthea (or Polyanthea ),  “work decorated with the sweetest flowers” ??( opus suavissimis floribus exornatum ), is due to Domenicus Nanus Mirabellius, who describes himself as a citizen of Alba and a doctor of arts.
This encyclopedia in the form of an anthology has, depending on the edition, between 750 and 1,500 entries classified in alphabetical order relating to moral and theological questions as well as themes of general interest: friendship, the ages of life, grammar, war, memory, rhetoric, blood, health, the zodiac...
It will go through multiple editions and will be combined with subsequent compilations by various authors, thus gaining over the years in richness and quality of organization.
